Research with recipients of civil legal assistance

The Scottish Legal Aid Board (SLAB) have commissioned the independent company, IBP Strategy and Research (IBP), to undertake research with people who have had civil legal aid or civil advice and assistance.

The research will tell us:

  • how people found a solicitor
  • how satisfied they were with their experience of using a solicitor and their contact with us and SLAB
  • what suggestions people have for improving the experience.

IBP will contact people to invite them to take part in the research during February and early March 2022. The contact will by email and/or letter.

Taking part in the research is voluntary and responses are confidential. It will not be possible to identify any individual respondents or their solicitors.

Once the survey fieldwork is complete, IBP will write a report on the findings, which will be published on SLAB’s website.

For more information on how we process personal data, including the rights individuals have, please see our privacy notice and SLAB’s privacy notice.

The privacy information notice for IBP Strategy and Research is available here.

If you have any queries about this project or would like to know more, please email the research team on research@slab.org.uk.
